Java Applets
What are Java applets?
Java applets are small programs that run in a
protected "sandbox" in your browser. They execute on a "Java Virtual
Machine" so they can run on any kind of computer -- Windows, Mac,
Unix -- whatever!
So why can't I run Java applets?
To run Java applets, you need a web browser that's
Java-enabled. This means you need Netscape Navigator 2.0 (or above),
Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 (or above) or AOL with MSIE. We
recommend Netscape Navigator, available from
www.netscape.com.
You also need to enable Java in your browser.
To turn on Java in Netscape Navigator, go to Options... Network
Preferences and select the Languages tab.
To turn on Java in Internet Explorer, go to View...Options and
select the Security tab. With AOL's IE, hit Prefs then the Security
tab.
